A/N: Part of the Beast writing challenge. 1/100
It was an early morning and Kikwang was already awake past the others. He had been restless the night before and hadn’t gotten much sleep. He sat up groggily, looking around to see if anyone was up. He was met with silent snores and mutters. He climbed down the ladder of his shared bed and was about to start his morning activities when a certain redheaded member caught his eye.
Hyunseung was curled up in his bed, facing Kikwang’s direction. His pillow was in between his thighs, arms gripping it gently as he slept soundly. The gesture was new to the younger boy and he couldn’t help but feel endeared by the sight. Kikwang looked around once more before standing on his tip-toes, reaching for his camera at the end of the bed. Turning it on, he aimed it at the sleeping boy, taking a picture. He smiled at the preview before saving it.
Everyone in the group knew Kikwang liked photography. They didn’t mind too much when he would snap a candid. If one person was to take his camera, they would think he was some kind of stalker with how many pictures of Hyunseung he had. Though the pictures may seem to be ordinary to most people, it meant a lot more to Kikwang. Simple things like drinking water, reading a magazine or messing with his hair had captivated him more and more over time and it wasn’t until recently that he figured he may have a few feelings for his fellow dancer.
Kikwang was finally in the kitchen, ready to get a little snack. He would cook for the others if they weren’t so traumatized by him nearly burning down the kitchen a while ago. He’d settled on a couple of fruits when the object of his affection appeared.
“Mornin’,” Hyunseung said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“Good morning,” Kikwang replied. He couldn’t help but think the red head looked picture perfect at the moment; sleepy Hyunseung was one of his favorite kinds of Hyunseung. “Still tired?”
“A little.” Hyunseung sat down at the table, eyes closed as he rested his chin. “Can you make me some breakfast?”
“Sure, what do you want?” Kikwang turned around, looking through cabinets for some quick food. When Hyunseung didn’t answer, he turned over his shoulder to see that his friend was busy looking through his camera. He could feel his face burning as he quickly ran over to the table to grab his camera but Hyunseung snatched it away, jumping up as he flipped through the pictures. “Wait a minute…”
He watched helplessly as his friend shuffled through his pictures. Kikwang looked down at the floor. Hyunseung had definitely reached to the pictures of himself now. He would see how much of a creep he was, even if that wasn’t the original intention. Can I please disappear into a hole?
Kikwang felt an arm lock around his neck, jerking him to the side. His cheek was pressed right up against Hyunseung’s. He looked up at the camera right when he saw the bright flash. He blinked a few times in surprise as Hyunseung turned the camera around to preview the picture. He looked at his wild expression staring back at him and couldn’t help but to chuckle.
“We should re-do this one, huh?” Hyunseung turned the camera back around, pulling Kikwang back towards him. The younger boy felt something light brush against his ears. “I love you.”
He whipped his head a little too fast. He forgot how close Hyunseung was. He didn’t expect a pair of lips to collide against his own. Whether the camera flashed or not, he didn’t know. Hyunseung pulled away, glancing at the picture preview.
“You can add that to your collection.” He put the camera in Kikwang’s hands, purposely brushing his fingers against his as he smiled. Kikwang could only stare after him dumbly, watching him walk away.
Kikwang looked down at the picture in his hands, trying to ignore his racing heart. That same wild expression was back on his face as Hyunseung kissed him, a ghost of a smirk just visible on the older boy’s face. He smiled lightly, adding the picture to his favorites. Hopefully, there would be more moments and memories to capture in the future.
